Description
DC isolator switches are used between DC PV arrays and grid-connect inverters. Positioned adjacent to the inverter, a DC switch is required to provide a means of manually isolating the entire PV array during system installation or any subsequent maintenance. Since a PV (solar) array cannot be turned off the terminals remain live at all times. It is important that all junction boxes and switch gear show appropriate warning labels.
Note: A DC isolator should be able to stand the 1.15x the string open circuit voltage (Voc) and 1.25x the string short circuit current (Isc)
