Description
Each Electrified End Stop kit (EES) comes with a linked cathode main braid (6-10m) that can be daisy chained together with other End Stops to form the upper stop of the survey area, or linked with existing cathode tails to ensure maximum coverage. ie to cover 15m use a standard 3m cathode and 2x 6m Electrified End Stops.
The Electrified End Stop comes with 0.5m-1m tails and alternating copper plated anchor attachments.
To deploy, anchor the EES by attaching the anchoring rods on each end of the braid and also the middle, then press into the river bed substrate, pull the tails out so they lay on the downstream side of the main braid.
The EES cathode comes with 27m of cable (not WMD UltraFlex) allowing a 50m survey stretch with a standard 25m wander anode.
For a 100m survey stretch separate cables can be made please contact us for this option.
For survey containment where placement of Electrified End Stops are required at each end of the site an adapter cable can be purchased here:
Place the electrofishing box at the center of the survey site and position the EES at the upper end of the survey zone. The enhanced area provided by the ESS cathode produces a deterrent field that will prevent fish escaping the survey site and immobilizes them if they get too deep into the field, allowing the current to keep them in the survey zone. Due to the large electric field around the EES, this method is less harsh on fish than conventional small cathodes. The EES can also be used to great effect at driving current in low conductivity conditions.
The EES cathode is available in 6, 8, & 10m widths and there is the choice of 0.5m or 1m tails, the later providing a more effective stop point for fishing
