WMD CLPNFC Tags

Description

WMD CLPNFC tags are a self locking cable tag with all the benefits of both external identification as well as integrated PIT tag. The advantages are a lower entry point for mark recapture and reporting projects. CLPNFC   tags support the running of simultaneous reporting avenues, such as citizen science using mobile smart phones as scanners (preventing transcription or misreading errors), and public reporting using the identification on the exterior of the tag.  Available in a variety of cable lengths and with customization options for the external tag markings. The default colour of the integrated tag section denotes the tag type and suitability though this may be customised.  CLPNFC tags are typically used on lobsters and crabs but also have many other uses such as red squirrel monitoring and mongoose population and behavioural studies etc. Different coloured marker sleeves are also available upon request and generally used to differentiate tagged sub-samples from discrete areas

Note:
-Hand scanners are not necessary to read these tags – Saving project costs and reducing the need to distribute expensive hand scanners which would not be available to the wider public
-Tags readable with smart phone – saves transcription errors and speeds up reporting where several animals are captured on a single occasion. Also reduces need for waterproof paper and pencils etc
-Tags readable visual ID – Easy to read and accessible to all. Very suitable for wider public engagement projects
