Tagging and Training

WMD has a full licensed surgeon, and holds, through our parent company, Establishment, Project and Personal licenses. We can provide tagging/monitoring, whether it be VI (visual identification tag or VIAE dye), RFID, Floy, Petersen or Hydroacoustic tagging. We can even train your own team to become self sufficient and gain the confidence and competence to run your own projects. With over 12000 wild fish (inc. elasmobranchs) tagged to date, and over 10 universities in receipt of our training and mentoring program across England and Wales. Fish Taging Surgical Skills Training and Workshops

To help you gain confidence in the surgical field and familiarize yourself with the relevant home office legislation. This workshop is very popular amongst universities hoping to get personal and project licenses. Covering all aspects of projects from the initial application to conducting surgery on vessels whilst offshore we’ve taught it all including sourcing a full mobile surgical setup for your research group.
